Art Of Survival. (Bidmead/Buchanan). Driving into the future Surviving, surviving the life Searching, looking for something When you find it don’t look twice Sometimes I can feel heaven Some days I’m stuck in this hell One day we got it comin’ Who knows? Who can tell what’s in the future Who can say? Just as long as we’re together We can find another way So hold on live for the moment Be strong and love out loud High hopes can only show us A better way to learn The art of survival You always said you’d never leave me We both know some things don’t work out as planned You know I’ll always remember The sound of your voice and the touch of your hand Cause freedom is on the horizon Sometimes i still think of you And I’ll keep everything that you gave me Close to My heart may still be broken Can you give me a sign? My words might be unspoken But you’re always on my mind Chorus The art of survival The art of survival The art of survival The art of survival Who can tell what’s in the future Who can say? Just as long as we’re together We can find another way Chorus The art of survival The art of survival The art of survival The art of survival

Drive All Night. (Bidmead/Buchanan). Looking at your picture That’s hanging on my wall Thinkin’ bout the good times Trying not to think about the fall Thinkin’ bout the words That could have changed it all Well it’s a long way down There’s always something missing In an empty house at night Some of us don’t go the distance Yet some make out all right But there’s always hope tomorrow Just to try and put things right It’s a long way down When there’s nowhere to fall And your hearts on the ground Well it’s a long road leads nowhere Through the state of my heart And I just drive all night Though it tears me apart The state of my heart Working keeps my mind off you Between the mountains and the plains Like a man at one with nature But something still don’t feel the same And I’m praying for forgiveness I’m just hoping that it rains It’s a long way down When there’s nowhere to fall And your hearts on the ground Chorus And I could make excuses On how the west was won But it won’t bring you back to me It won’t give us both back Our day in the sun It’s a long way down When there’s nowhere to fall And your hearts on the ground Chorus
3.
It's Alright/ Don't Cry Anymore. (Bidmead/Buchanan) Close your eyes breathe in deep Give me all your trust Sink into sleep Know your friends keep them close It’s not the end So Don’t cry anymore Please don’t cry anymore Watch your back but look ahead Stay on track somebody said So shut your mouth Keep your cards close You’ll find out Don’t cry anymore Please don’t cry anymore Everything changes here tonight Burning the pages here tonight Nothings remaining here tonight Cause everything’s gonna be alright Call it survival call it fate I’m not that impulsive but I just can’t wait Look around listen close Don’t make a sound Don’t cry anymore Please don’t cry anymore Everything changes here tonight Burning the pages here tonight Nothings remaining here tonight Cause everything’s gonna be alright Tonight Sit tight Alright Don’t cry anymore Don’t cry anymore Don’t cry anymore Chorus
4.
The One That Got Away. (Bidmead/ Buchanan) Write me a letter drop me a line Cause I don’t see you anymore Think I still love you but I could be lying If there was some way I could know for sure But it seems that every thought of you I have tears me apart You could be the one I left behind You could be my reason love is blind Now there’s nothing more to say If I could only find the words To make you understand me when I say You’re the one that got away Maybe I’ll call you maybe I won’t Or maybe I need to get a life Sometimes I miss you sometimes I don’t And all of my dreams are black and white But it seems that everything I want Can only lead to here You could be the one I left behind You could be my reason love is blind Now there’s nothing more to say If I could only find the words To make you understand me when I say You’re the one that got away I’d rather let you down than let you go It’s better to have loved than not at all You could be the one I left behind You’re the only one still in my mind You could be the one I left behind You could be my reason love is blind Now there’s nothing more to say If I could only find the words To make you understand me when I say You’re the one that got away You’re the one that got away
5.
How Does It Feel? (Bidmead/Buchanan). You could be anything you choose But you play a game you're bound to lose Nothing but anger and Confusion in your eyes I don't believe the things you say But whatever gets you through your day Will keep you a million miles Away from happiness But if that's the way that you see it Then it's true that love is blind How does it feel to be alone? Spend your life waiting by that phone But when the sun goes down You'll be lost and found After all you've put me through Everything goes then comes around And if you stop you'd hear the sound The sound of your own life as it Slowly slips away Everything's fair in love and war And knowing you've seen it all before You'd think that by now you'd know the score And all the rules Such a fool But if that's the way that you want it You can walk right out that door Chorus So off you go Bye bye See what you can find Just get out of my sight Cause you're already out of my mind Chorus
6.
Hands Of Love. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). Some days it feels like you’re winning when you’re really falling way behind Maybe it feels like you’re sinning when you’re looking for (some) peace of mind Sometimes it feels like your only friends are the voices in your head You gotta shake off those feelings that keep on pushing you into red And you know that you wanna shake it But you feel you just can’t win Gotta be a way to break it Cause in the hands of love There can be no doubt And with the hands of love You know you’re never gonna be without Cause the hands of love Will open every door And with the hands of love You’ll never want for more Yeah you might think that you’re sinking / it’s only your state of mind Stuck all alone with your thinking only a waste of time yeah yeah You wanna get to that good place now where it feels so right (so right) You need somebody to get you where you gotta be / tonight And when you feel like you’re going nowhere You gotta look the other way Take a look inside yourself right now Chorus How will you know for sure I just gotta see You’re gonna need to know more Well how is it gonna be Just like before No no / I’m gonna read between the lines You know how it feels when you’re losin’ Now you wanna win Gotta find a way back home Show me where to begin Chorus
7.
In Too Deep 05:24
In Too Deep. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). Sometimes a glance is all it takes To move a world or change a heart And circumstance can lead to fate That’s when your future becomes the past But when the nighttime holds you close You can be anybody Sometimes your destiny Looks you right between the eyes I’m in too deep I get no sleep I’m in way over my head without you The two of us might not mean much to you But I still believe there’s a way To come back from this emptiness And find a way back home again You call my name in so much pain And turn my whole world inside out I might pretend but every now and then I can’t breathe out anymore And then I sink into those dreams Where you come back to me and then My life dissolves between The scenes of what we had Chorus Baby it just seems too bad As I put my life back piece by piece Like somehow we both tried much too hard And if the nighttime gets you down You know you can always call me Sometimes your destiny Hits you right between the eyes I’m in too deep I get no sleep I’m in way over my head The two of us might not mean much to you But I still believe it I’m in too deep I get no sleep I’m in way over my head without you The two of us might not mean much to you But I still believe there’s a way

Kerosene 03:41
Kerosene. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). He’s pouring kerosene While she takes the long way home He once thought he had a dream Her nightmare’s just begun He strikes that match alight And she’s walking faster now Their future’s up in smoke The past comes crumbling down And he keeps walking right into the same trap He ain’t looking left or right She thought love was falling into her lap Threw it away with kerosene Her heart has turned to stone She blames him for everything There’s no love to call her own He’s clipping angel’s wings While her hands are digging dirt His fingers are in the till There’s no symptom ain’t no cure It’s such a bitter pill Chorus There’s no smoke (no smoke) without no fire There’s no love (no love) with no desire They keep walking right into the same trap He ain’t looking left or right She thought love was falling into her lap Win or lose in black and white They keep walking but they ain’t talking They thought love was win or lose
9.
Light Of The Day. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). I‘m lost for words Been seen not heard Unequal third Would it be so bad to let me in One day you might Wound up so tight And you’re such a sight You should see yourself from outside In the cold light of the day When the darkness slips away If you think you’re right Through the lonely nights Then you better think again Fall down like rain Still you can’t explain All those words in pain You hear inside your head I know your name But you’re not the same It’s such a shame All those wounds you’ve bled again and again In the cold light of the day When the dark dreams slip away If you think you’re right Through the lonely nights Then you better think again Drive myself crazy for you Never coming down And I live all these strange days wondering Where I get back on In the cold light of the day When the madness slips away If you think you’re right Through the lonely nights Then you better think again
10.
If You Need Somebody. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). If you need somebody If you need somebody Things don’t seem the same these days you’re gone And I still see you walking out that door Everything we did was meant to be Or so it seemed to me Then I found out some things I never knew I was hopin’ they weren’t true And I see your face I won’t let you down If you need somebody If you want somebody If you love someone Don’t turn and walk away I can’t even think or say your name Just causes too much pain Now things have changed because you broke the rules I don’t wanna be some lovestruck fool Still I’ll be the last man standing On this lonesome road Chorus Stay true to your own heart How do you think I know? If you need somebody If you want somebody If you love someone Don’t turn and walk away If you need somebody If you want somebody If you love someone Don’t turn and walk away Chorus
11.
Somewhere Down The Line. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). Tonight I’m looking out Can’t stop thinkin’ about the unknown If I had my time again I just can’t remember when I’ve been so alone I never thought I’d find myself feel this way You could be holding someone else when I walk away But it’s only love make me say the things I say And it’s only time always make me feel this way And it’s only you can only take my breath away I always thought we’d meet again one day Somewhere down the line Night driving state to state You say I don’t appreciate what we had Lost out in valentine Those days when you were mine are long long long gone I never thought I’d catch myself lonely and so unsure You touch my hand I hold my breath and walk right out the door Chorus Everything here seems so unreal So how do I know the way you feel Back on the road where wounds won’t heal We’ve been there before and you know the deal You pull the strings you hold the key Baby it makes no sense to me And I don’t know why I had to drive a thousand miles so I could breathe The hardest thing I ever knew was to leave you Maybe I’m just looking for a reason to believe And it’s only love makes me say the things I say And it’s only time always makes me feel this way And it’s only you can only take my breath away And I always hoped that we’d meet again someday Chorus
12.
My Beautiful Friend. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). You walk in the silence You breathe in the night again You’re talking in halos You just close your eyes and pretend You’re dancing with angels Who show you the future and the past My beautiful friend where have you gone You’ve kept me here waiting for so long And everything changes right or wrong But still you’re gone gone gone You creep in the back door And look through the windows of my soul You’re talking in numbers Yeah you always need to take control I can’t help but wonder Just how it would feel out of this cold You bathe in the slumber And fill up the spaces in my head My beautiful friend where have you gone I’ve been here waiting for far too long And everything changes right or wrong But still you’re gone gone gone Feel like I’m losing My whole world is falling down So far from you and All I can do is call your name
13.
Down & Dirty 06:44
Down ‘N’ Dirty. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). I been talking trash in the morning Yeah I been sleeping without warning now And how I been looking for love in a phone book I been keeping my cards close to my chest Self confessed I don’t mean any harm Just come back to my farm and we could play Now I ain’t twisting your arm But I could turn on the charm again today What'd’ ya say? I’ve been watchin' the world But the world’s been watching me There ain’t nothin' to see When you’re down and dirty Down and dirty like me I been havin' myself a good time Would ya like to be my partner in crime We could stop on a dime I been tryin' every trick in my book I been hangin' out just to get one look Oh c’mon just one look I don’t mean any harm Just come back to my farm and we could play Now I ain’t twisting your arm But I could turn on the charm one more time today What'd’ ya say? I’ve been watchin' the world But the world’s been watching me There ain’t nothin' to see When you’re down and dirty Down and dirty like me I’ve been watchin' the world But the world’s been watching me There ain’t nothin' to see When you’re down and dirty Down and dirty Down and dirty like me I don’t mean any harm Just come back to my farm and we could play Now I ain’t twisting your arm But I could turn on the charm one more today What'd’ ya say? Chorus
14.
The One That Got Away. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). Write me a letter drop me a line Cause I don’t see you anymore Think I still love you but I could be lyin’ If there was a way I could know for sure But it seems that every thought of you I have tears me apart You could be the one I left behind You’re the only chaos in my mind Now there’s nothin’ more to say If I could only find the words To make you understand me when I say You’re the one that got away Maybe I’ll call you, I probably won’t Maybe I need to get a life Sometimes I miss you, sometimes I don’t All of my dreams are black and white But it seems that everythin’ I want Just leads me to you You could be the one I left behind You’re the only chaos in my mind Now there’s nothin’ more to say If I could only find the words To make you understand me when I say You’re the one that got away I’d rather let you down than let you go It’s better to have loved than not at all You could be the one I left behind You’re the only one still in my mind You could be the one I left behind You could be the reason my love is blind Now there’s nothin’ more to say If I could only find the words To make you understand me when I say You could be the one I left behind You’re the only chaos in my mind Now there’s nothin’ more to say If I could only find one word To make you understand me when I say You’re the one that got away You got away

Wasted 06:09
Wasted. (Bidmead/ Buchanan). ‘Bout These Days There’s Something New Watching Me And You Darkness Falls On My World Lost It All Again And I Don’t Know Why It’s True That I Can’t Get Over You And I Wonder How We Can Still Pretend All That Love Wasted Again Burning Slow But You Should Know All My Rules By Now But I’ll Be There To Take The Blame And Maybe Save You Again Chorus Round And Round Again Keep On Calling Voices In My Head Feel I’m Falling When Will This All End All That Love Wasted Chorus X 2 Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Etc…

about

I first met Glenn (Bidmead) back in 1989 when I was called to play a midnight to dawn session @ a Brisbane recording studio called Starsound Studios. The cassette of the rough demos sounded great so I had a feeling this was going to be a fun session & indeed it was. We saw each other not long after on another session @ Starsound & again, the song penned by him struck me being of such mature writing.

Roll onto 1999 where we met after a gig @ the Basement Jazz Club in Sydney. He told me he was now signed to John Woodruff Management as well as Village Roadshow & had just completed recording his debut album so he was excited to finally have it released to the world.

Roll on again to around 2002 & this time we met @ a local RSL Club in Sydney where he was playing. He tells me a single or two were released but the album project was shelved due to red tape. However, we'd connected again.

He invited me to his place a few days later to see his little home studio, have a coffee etc & well the rest is history. We began writing & in 3 separate writing/ tracking sessions (+ overdubs) we completed what was to be 'Kerosene/ Art Of Survival'.

All up it took a little over 3 years to complete but it was well worth the ride & as a group we're both very proud of this record so we hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as we did creating it, K.
