about

This was the first song Glenn & I wrote together way back 2002. I remember seeing glenn @ a local club & he said come over & see the studio, have a coffee etc. We sat down & wrote the basic arrangement & melody for this in about 1/2 an hour.

This again is Glenn's demo vocal.

lyrics

The One That Got Away. (Bidmead/ Buchanan)

Write me a letter drop me a line
Cause I don’t see you anymore
Think I still love you but I could be lying
If there was some way I could know for sure

But it seems that every thought of you
I have tears me apart

You could be the one I left behind
You could be my reason love is blind
Now there’s nothing more to say
If I could only find the words
To make you understand me when I say
You’re the one that got away

Maybe I’ll call you maybe I won’t
Or maybe I need to get a life
Sometimes I miss you sometimes I don’t
And all of my dreams are black and white

But it seems that everything I want
Can only lead to here

You could be the one I left behind
You could be my reason love is blind
Now there’s nothing more to say
If I could only find the words
To make you understand me when I say
You’re the one that got away

I’d rather let you down than let you go
It’s better to have loved than not at all

You could be the one I left behind
You’re the only one still in my mind

You could be the one I left behind
You could be my reason love is blind
Now there’s nothing more to say
If I could only find the words
To make you understand me when I say

You’re the one that got away
You’re the one that got away
